Downieville 2011!

Wow, I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving and I am just now blogging about our summer camping trip!

On our way to the Yuba River:

Our first stop for lunch:

After being in the car for 5 hours, we finally arrived to our campsite! The girls had fun playing with the Stomp Rocket, while we quickly set up camp.

Baby Kaitlyn watching everybody from her bouncer

After stomp rocketing, they were having fun seeing who could lift the heaviest rock

This is where my wonderful husband spent most mornings (=

The water was EXTREMELY cold this year, but we still had fun playing in it when we could.
I love this picture of Carly checking out the river:

Our good friends, Bobby and Rachel and their two boys, came up to camp with us for a few days- which was so much fun!
Here's a picture of Jim steering the boat with Bobby, Caleb, and Jenna inside:

After giving Bobby a hard time for letting Jim push him in the boat, he decided to 'man up' and jump in! heee

The Boat Monster:

My brave girl!

All the kiddos on the other side of the river!
I love this picture:

I had a great time giving the kids boat rides! It was nice having a boat this year, especially since the water was SOO COLD!

The kids getting ready for a delicious meal, cooked by Bobby and Rachel:

Of course, our trip wouldn't be complete without yummy treats from town!

Girls snuggling in the tent:

Kaitlyn Jean hanging out while we played in the river:

Carly Coo climbing trees

Jenna holding a frog that Cousin Ryland caught!

I LOVE this picture! It describes Jenna's reaction- when Carly is about to do something that scares her- she covers her ears and says AHHH!
Eventually, Jenna held the snake as well... but not until Carly did (and didn't get eaten)!
Breakfast with friends!

Mommy (who hasn't had a shower in like 3 days!) and Kaitlyn

More ice cream!

Last day of camping, family photo:

This year, we camped for 10 days with a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and a 3 month old. Needless to say, it was A LOT of work with LITTLE sleep, and NO SHOWERS!
But overall, we had a great time and a lot of fun!
I am amazed at how brave our girls are and how much they love camping and jumping off rocks into freezing cold water!
Even though camping seems to be more work than fun the past couple of years- I am happy we are continuing the Downieville tradition and raising our girls to be campers!
Thanks Bobby and Rachel for joining us and making our days more fun!
And a big thanks to my in-laws for letting us sleep in their new motor home when they weren't using it (=
